so... once upon a time i went to England. it was fantastic. on my way back, i spent a few hours wandering about all the airport shops in Gatwick, spent most of my last tenner on a book, and with the remaining bits of change, bought a smoothie.
i don't remember what flavor it was, but i fell in love with the bottle. its label was the cutest and most witty piece of branding i'd ever seen. i kept that bottle for a long time, even though it got a bit smashed in my carry-on luggage. eventually it got lost, thrown out by my mum or something... but i never ever forgot innocent smoothies.
i looked up their website. it's very stylish these days, moreso than it was three years ago. they have a blog. (who doesn't?) and there's a gallery of all their cute labels. they sell books. they have grass covered vans and every year they do a summer festival--fruitstock, they call it. they're all about that organic, recyclable, sustainable, green commerce sort of stuff. it's so enchanting. i sound like an utterly smitten fan-girl. oh well.
and now they want to hire a creative person. me! i would love that. any excuse to move to london, right? how exciting that would be.
if only i weren't all committed to this serving-the-lord idea... dropping off the planet for eighteen months.
but anyway, all i can do now is hope that when i get back they might need another creative person. perhaps to bring the glory of innocent drinks to America, as i've been hoping, ever since i smuggled an empty smoothie bottle out of England.
