i had a dream about you, JeriLynn

this was the night before last.

in my dream, I had just moved in to the same apartment complex that you and your family lived in. it looked very much like a set of college dorms.

it was christmastime, I think, and for some awesome gift you had written and designed a beautiful little book full of patterns and quotes and other mysterious details that have been lost in dreamspace. you let me look at it and flip through it and it was just really cool. your kids were there, and it all seemed very cozy. I wish I could remember more of the dream, because I'm sure there was some sort of plot or drama beyond or surrounding this little book you'd made. oh well. we will just have to imagine what the rest of the dream was about.

I'm going to rant

Jeri here.  I told you on my last post that I was editing a book for a friend.  Well, here it is!
And it looks great.  Except one thing, this has my picture in it, but it most certainly DOES NOT represent my editing skills!!

The author, whom we'll call Joseph, said this when I pointed out some of the errors:
"There are more than a few. I didn't merge the files properly between what I had here and what you sent me. It's got "character" that we didn't intend it to have.... Still, it's been well received, and the mistakes haven't been considered a distraction (thankfully)."

Other than grammatical mistakes, there are twice-printed letters. This is because he gently refused my request to look over the final version to make sure things were in good form.  At first I told him I wasn't too upset about it, but now I've realized that I cannot use this as an example of my work, and when people read the credits, they will pin me with the mistakes.  I am more than a little embarassed!

look: http://www.usu.edu/ust/index.cfm?article=48040

I should've taken my own pictures when I was there last week, but I failed.

in other news, I had lunch with Rylish on friday, and picked his brain about grad school applications and programs and other random academic sorts of things. it was pretty fun.

this week it'll be five years since I graduated. insane, isn't it?

anyways. how is everyone else doing? you all should blog here more often, I say. :)

Long lost Jeri

Look, I've got three kids now! Too bad I'm not in this picture!

I just thought I'd update and say hello. Also, I've recently taken on an editing project for a friend who's self-publishing a book. Does anyone have any advice, tips, or tricks? I feel a little out of the loop and would appreciate any advice.

If anyone's still out there! :)
